Fleeing the Castro regime in the sixty's, Nora's grandfather arrived from Santa Clara, Cuba determined for a better life and pursing the American dream for his family. A year after his arrival Nora and her family arrived to Miami from Cuba.

In 2019 Nora rolled up her sleeves with the same determination of her late grandfather and turned her dream into a reality. She began by baking rum cakes for friends and family. Little did she know it grew to selling quite a few rum cakes to her local community. "I started selling pecan rum cakes during the holidays. I enjoyed baking and decorating each one." Due to the pandemic, she was unable to continue selling rum cakes during 2020 and 2021.

In 2022 she found herself with much more free time and decided to make her baking official. That's when Cakes on the Rum was created. Today she has a variety of delicious flavors. All her cakes are baked and infused in real rum. Her motto is to bake fresh high quality rum cakes with a personal touch of beauty.
